The Community Time Capsule
 Released Time:2009.10.23    From:    View Times:112
In considering new ways to get the community involved here at the Aion Tower,it might be an interesting idea to create a time capsule, of sorts, for this new MMO.

Basically, the project they're launching is going to occur in two steps, six weeks apart. We'll consider extending it to a third section in three to six months, but it all depends on participation.

What I'd like to gather is the following:

1) Write up a paragraph or two summarizing all of your thoughts on Aion, pre-release. They want to hear about your hopes, your fears, your plans, your goals and any other info you may feel is relevant at this current juncture. Time Capsule Submission.; Make sure you sign it with your username or real name, depending on what you may like mentioned in the future final article.

This may or may not literally occur.

2) In six weeks, roughly November 3, 2009, they will request a follow-up submission. By this point, you'll have experienced a good cross section of the game, have had some of your hopes crushed, your fears realized or alleviated, and many hopefully good surprises in between. And they'll create a written before and after piece to contrast a little piece of MMO history.

The scope and layout of this article may change or shift depending on the types of submissions we get, and feel free to leave comments with any additional ideas you may have, or questions. If this is successful, I'd like to add a round three in several months, once things are truly up and running.

It's almost Halloween and you need to come up with a costume anyway, right? So why not make it CoH related? If you do, you can enter it in our Official Hero-Con '09 Costume Contest! We're looking for heroes and villains specifically for this event - whether it's your own character or a signature one from the game! Just keep it hero or villain themed and a character that is NOT trademarked outside of the City of Heroes game! Also - please leave any realistic-type weapons such as sharp wood, steel or anything else that could be seen as posing a danger to yourself or anyone else at home!

The Hero-Con Costume Contest will take place towards the end of the big banquet dinner on the evening of Saturday, October 24th. Go ahead- show up to the banquet with your costume on already if you'd like! Towards the end of the evening, we'll bring all the costumed heroes and villains on stage to strut their stuff! Our esteemed panel of judges will award a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner as well as two honorable mentions. Those lucky individuals will win great prizes! There's no separate category for heroes or villains, just the best costumes that emerge out of everyone who enters. Participants will be judged on the following criteria: 1) Creativity 2) Costume Detail, 3) Personality/Attitude and 4) Relevance to the City of Heroes universe.
